Eagles waive 3 ahead of final preseason game

In what seems like very odd timing, the Eagles decided to release 3 players ahead of the final preseason game against the Jets.  The Eagles released wide receivers Keevan Lucas and David Watford, along with cornerback Tay Glover-Wright.

While I didn’t expect any of these guys to make the team, Watford is an interesting early cut being that he was on the practice squad last season.  I guess they didn’t see enough development this offseason to warrant allocating a practice squad spot to him.  With the depth at receiver this year, along with the recent draft selections, it was a long-shot for him to ever come off of the practice squad.  I doubt that we need anymore developmental receivers with Hollins, Gibson, Agholor and possibly Treggs on the roster.

Keevan Lucas and Tay Glover-Wright were essentially “camp bodies” and had no shot of making the team.

As a fellow Hampton Pirate, I wish Watford nothing but the best.

Hey, what happened to Paul Turner?????
