Lotus Evora 400 scheduled to be launched in 2016

Lotus Cars are very familiar in the world of competitive motorsports. This British car manufacturing company is widely recognized as the manufacturer of efficient sports cars like Elan, Europa, Esprit, Elise as well as for their highly successful Team Lotus in Formula one. They first launched Evora, a car that was developed under a project called Project Eagle, on 22 July, 2008 and were widely appreciated. Their newest and more powerful addition, Lotus Evora 400, is scheduled to be marketed in September 2016. Before that, we will get to know all about its extraordinary features in Geneva Motor Show 2015.

Can’t wait for it, huh? Neither can the car lovers all over the world.

The last Evora model, the Lotus Evora S gained worldwide appreciation for its speed, power, 3.5 litre V6 engine, gaining the speed of 0-60 mph in just 4.7 seconds and the maximum speed of 178 mph, improved interior and exterior etc. Lotus Evora 400 is looking to surpass its ancestor, and it is safe to say that it will do a damn good job.

The new model of Evora, Lotus Evora 400, is lighter, faster and more powerful that Lotus Evora S. There is nothing ordinary about this amazing car except for its engine. Its 3.5L V6 mid-engine is the same one that had been used in the previous Evora cars. But that is where the similarities end.

Lotus Evora 400 is improved in all aspects. There has been a slight exterior change in order to make it more attractive. Although the changes are not anything mind-blowing, they are okay. The numbers are very impressive; the 3.5L engine will deliver the power of 400 horses (a massive increase of 55 hp from the previous models, hence the name) and 302 Ib-ft of torque. This car is lighter than the previous models. There has been a 49-pounds decrease in the weight of the car and it is now claimed to be 3119 pounds. The official 0-60 mph time has reduced to only 4.1 seconds and it will be able to reach a maximum speed of 186 mph. Lotus says that Evora 400 will be 6 times quicker than Evora S, making it the fastest Evora ever.

The interior of the car has been changed to match the changes in design and mobility. The brakes and wheels are larger, and it’s easier to get in and out of the car. The shift quality and clutch action for the standard six-speed manual has been improved. The doorsills have been improved for a better access. The sports seats are 13 pounds lighter and the rear seats are 11 inches wider. All in all, Lotus Evora 400 is a classic beauty.

Now the question is how much this magnificent car will cost. It is possible that the price will start somewhere around 89,000$. Compared to the previous Evora, the UK price has been set to rise by more than 10%. Still, this car is a catch. So let’s wait and watch what happens next.
